Best Places in Vancouver for Cherry Blossom Spotting

3. UBC (University of British Columbia)

Can you believe that a quarter of this year is about to end?

The long, long winter is about to over, and spring is just around the corner. The cherry blossom season is coming!

It is said that the first cherry trees came to Vancouver in the 1930s. Since then, you can see cherry blossoms at many places in the city.

Today, I would like to introduce 3 places where you can see the cherry blossoms that the staff chose arbitrarily!

1. Stanley Park

Needless to say, many cherry blossoms are in full bloom at Stanley Park. Originally, the cherry blossoms first came here at Stanley Park, and it is said that they were presented in memory of the memorial to the Japanese Canadian war dead. You can enjoy walking and cycling while watching the cherry blossoms. When you return to downtown, you can walk along the West End and enjoy the cherry blossoms.

2. Queen Elizabeth Park

Queen Elizabeth Park is located south of Cambie Street. Not only cherry blossoms, but also many beautifully arranged flowers and gardens are famous here. The sunset is also beautiful.

3. UBC (University of British Columbia)

It is the largest university in Vancouver, and cherry blossoms bloom everywhere its the huge campus. For the best cherry blossom on campus, visit Inazo Nitobe Memorial Garden which is named after Inazo Nitobe who is the author of famous “Bushido” and was on previous 5000-yen banknote. You can enjoy a beautiful traditional Japanese garden like “The Japan”. There is no doubt that you will be relieved to see Japanese wabi-sabi and cherry blossoms as well!

I’ve introduced three of the nice spots of cherry blossoms this time, but if you don’t have time to go there, you can easily see beautiful cherry blossom trees at Burrard Station as well! Looking forward to the cherry blossom season!
