Different Terms and Pronunciation in Canada and the States

Chocolate Bar

About

aboot… a boot…

Chocolate Bar

Yes, a bar of chocolate like Snickers, Mars, or Coffee Crisp. So, yes, they are chocolate bars. What’s wrong? In the States, they somehow call them candy bars. It is kind of a rare case that Canadian term is easier to understand.

About

OK, let’s talk about about. In Canada, people say a-baut; however, some people in the States say a-boot. It sounds like “a boot,” huh.

Z

How would you pronounce it? In Canada, more and more people say “zed” rather than “zee.”
